A note from the shop
We opened in the spring of 2019 in a former barbershop on Route 70, with the idea that a town the size of Cherry Hill deserved a bookshop that took reading seriously without taking itself too seriously. Six rooms, twelve thousand titles, and one rule: every book on the shelf was chosen by a person, not an algorithm. We carry new fiction and old poetry, letterpress cards and loose-leaf tea, first editions and enamel pins. We deliver across South Jersey, host readings on the first Friday of every month, and will happily order anything we don't have on hand — usually inside forty-eight hours.01 / The Shop

We took a barbershop on Route 70 and filled it with books.
The building had been empty for two years when we found it — chrome chairs, a cracked mirror, the faint ghost of aftershave. We kept the floor, the front window, and the bell on the door. The rest became shelves. Six rooms, one for each thing we love: new fiction, rare and antiquarian prints, stationery, pantry goods, literary life, and a small space in the back for readings.
We're not a chain and we're not trying to be one. The whole shop is curated by three people who read, argue, and reorder weekly. If you ask for a recommendation, you'll get a real answer — usually too long, often with a footnote. If we don't have a book, we'll special order it, generally inside forty-eight hours.

We deliver books and pantry goods across South Jersey on Tuesdays and Fridays. Orders placed before 5 PM the day prior go out on the next run. Free over $40.
