Minor injuries
Sprains, strains, suspected broken bones, cuts needing stitches, minor burns and scalds, head bumps in adults, and bumped limbs from a tumble off a bike.
When something urgent but not life-threatening happens — a fall, a burn, a fever that won't settle — the Lymington Urgent Treatment Centre is here. GP-led, walk-in, and ready to see you.
Urgent doesn't always mean emergency. If it can't wait for your GP but isn't life-threatening, that's exactly where we fit.
Sprains, strains, suspected broken bones, cuts needing stitches, minor burns and scalds, head bumps in adults, and bumped limbs from a tumble off a bike.
Fevers, earache, sore throats, chest infections, rashes, UTIs, eye infections and tummy bugs — assessed by a clinician, treated on the spot.
Insect bites and stings, minor dog bites, infected wounds, grazes and dirty cuts — cleaned, dressed and reviewed by our nurse practitioners.
From a toddler's bumped head to a teenager's twisted ankle to grandad's chesty cough — we see every age, with staff trained in paediatric assessment.
X-ray access for suspected fractures, plus on-the-spot observations, swabs and basic tests — meaning we can diagnose and treat in one visit, not three.
If you need more than we can offer, we refer you directly — to A&E, to specialists, or back to your own GP with a clear letter and a plan.
We're here for the urgent — but not the critical. If you or someone with you has any of the following, call 999 or go straight to A&E:
Chest pain spreading to the arm · difficulty breathing · severe bleeding that won't stop · sudden facial droop or slurred speech · loss of consciousness · a severe allergic reaction · or anything that genuinely feels like it can't wait.
Not a call centre. Not a queue. A focused clinical team whose whole job is urgent, walk-in care — every day of the week.
The Lymington Urgent Treatment Centre is operated by PHL Group and sits inside Lymington New Forest Hospital. We're a GP-led team — meaning a senior doctor oversees every shift, supported by:
Specialist nurse practitioners with prescribing rights, experienced paramedics who've moved from the ambulance service into minor injuries, healthcare support workers who keep things moving, and a reception team trained to spot when something's more urgent than it looks.
We exist for one reason: to give Lymington and the New Forest a calm, capable alternative to A&E — for the things that genuinely don't need to be there.
A little prep makes the whole thing quicker. Here's what to bring and what to expect when you walk through our doors.
Walk in any day between 8am and 9pm — no appointment, no need to be registered, no need to live locally. Just come.
