Same-day & acute care
Fevers, infections, rashes, and sudden worries — seen the day you call, by a doctor who has the time to examine you properly.
The Watermill Clinic is a small, independent practice in Wickham — built around longer appointments, attentive listening, and the kind of continuity modern medicine has quietly stopped offering.
book a visitThe Watermill Clinic sits on Houghton Way, a few minutes from the centre of Wickham. We opened with a simple premise: that fifteen minutes is not enough to understand a person, and a stranger is not the best person to diagnose you.
Every appointment here runs thirty minutes as standard. You will see the same clinician each time you visit. Your records will be read before you arrive, not after. Nothing about your care will be rushed, automated, or routed through a stranger.
We care for families, older adults, and people who have simply grown tired of feeling like a number. We do it the slow way — because the slow way is, more often than not, the better way.
People come to us when they want to be remembered. We learn their history, their children, their worries. That is not a luxury. It is medicine.
From the first cough to long-term conditions, women's health to mental wellbeing — we offer the full scope of general practice, with the time each of these deserves.
Fevers, infections, rashes, and sudden worries — seen the day you call, by a doctor who has the time to examine you properly.
Asthma, diabetes, heart disease, thyroid. Managed continuously by the same clinician, with reviews that actually review.
Contraception, menopause, cervical screening, and reproductive health — provided with discretion by clinicians who specialise in it.
Anxiety, low mood, grief, burnout. Thirty-minute appointments make room for conversations the NHS ten-minute slot cannot.
Pre-travel consultations, immunisations, and bespoke advice for journeys far from home — organised weeks in advance.
Health MOTs, blood pressure, cholesterol, and cancer screening. We would rather find problems early — and we have the time to look.
We're on Houghton Way, just off the A32. There is patient parking on site, and Wickham village is a five-minute walk.
We are currently accepting a small number of new registrations. Please call ahead.
Phones open at 8:30. We close for one hour at lunch so our clinicians can actually read their notes.
