Our Story
A family
affair, since 2005.
The Sports Locker opened on Petworth Road nearly two decades ago with a simple idea: that real expertise beats a slick website every time. We're a family-owned, independent sports store — not a chain, not a warehouse, not an algorithm.
Between us we've racked up over eighty years of combined experience on the court, the pitch, the slopes and the track. That means when you walk in asking about a cricket bat's pickup, a rugby boot's last, or whether you really need that padel racket — you're talking to people who actually know.
We stock specialist equipment for cricket, rugby, football, hockey, tennis, padel, pickle, squash, badminton, running, ski-wear, darts, and garden games. And if we haven't got it on the rack, we'll happily order it in.

01
Expert Fitting
From running shoes matched to your gait, to cricket bats pressed and weighed to your stance — we fit kit to the body, not the other way round. No guesswork. No "that'll probably do".
02
Racket Restring
Tennis, squash, badminton and padel — re-strung in-store to your tension and play style. Quick turnaround, premium string, and the kind of chat you only get from people who've swung a racket themselves.
03
Specialist Orders
If it's not on the wall, we'll get it. Decades of supplier relationships mean we can source obscure sizes, team kit, and the specific bat or boot the big chains just won't carry. Just ask.
