Tucked beneath its thick thatch in the quiet hamlet of Lower Chute, The Hatchet Inn has been pouring drinks for travellers since the 1200s. The villages known as The Chutes still feel like a secret — and we rather like it that way.
Inside you'll find low ceilings, wonky beams, a fire that crackles through every season, and a kitchen turning out proper pub classics. No fuss, no theatre — just honest food, well-kept drinks, and a chair by the fire with your name on it.
