Centuries of Stories.

Built upon the historic site of The Chopping Knife Inn, The Antrobus Arms Hotel has served many lives. From a vicarage and a school for young gentlemen to a temperance inn, our walls echo with the rich history of Amesbury—the oldest continuously occupied settlement in Britain.

As an original listed 17th-century coaching inn, we have welcomed weary travelers for over four hundred years. Nestled in the heart of the town, we are the perfect gateway to the timeless mysteries of nearby Stonehenge and the rolling landscapes of Salisbury Plain.

But our history isn't just architectural. In the swinging sixties, The Beatles stayed with us while filming the movie ‘Help!’ on Salisbury Plain. We've also hosted film crews for Agatha Christie’s classic ‘Miss Marple’, cementing our place not just in local history, but in cultural history too.
