Ethylene Cracking
Polymer-grade ethylene from naphtha and ethane feedstocks. Annual nameplate capacity of 1.9 billion pounds, shipped via dedicated pipeline to Gulf Coast compounding partners.
Our facility sits on 412 acres along the Port of Texas City — the busiest private chemical port on the Gulf.
Texas City Dow has operated continuously on the same stretch of Galveston County coastline since the post-war chemical boom of 1948. What began as a single ethylene cracker now spans seven integrated process units, two deep-water docks, and a rail terminal capable of staging ninety cars at a time.
We do not chase volume for its own sake. Our reputation on the Gulf Coast has been built on consistency — batch after batch, year after year — for the refiners, compounders, and agricultural formulators who cannot afford a missed delivery. Every molecule that leaves this gate is signed off by a name, not a barcode.
The work is unglamorous and exacting. It is also the work that keeps the lights on across half of Harris County, and we treat that responsibility the way the founders did: seriously, quietly, and without shortcuts.
Indicative pricing for standard industrial grades. Volume contracts, custom specs, and dedicated tankage are quoted separately — call our commercial desk for anything above railcar quantities.

Polymer and chemical-grade propylene separated from cracker offgas. Available in railcar, tank truck, and barge quantities from the Texas City dock.
Membrane-cell grade 50% sodium hydroxide solution. Primary co-product of our chlorine unit, supplied to pulp, alumina, and water treatment customers across the southern U.S.
Bespoke organic intermediates from 500-gallon pilot batches through full commercial scale. Dedicated glass-lined and Hastelloy reactors with cGMP documentation available.
Re-distillation and re-certification of spent industrial solvents — MEK, toluene, xylene, and NMP. Returns usable product at 99.2% minimum purity with full certificate of analysis.
Tank truck, ISO container, and railcar loading from two dedicated gantries. Average turnaround under 90 minutes, with hazmat-certified drivers and 24/7 dispatch.
On-site GC, IC, and wet-chemistry lab offering third-party certificate of analysis for any product leaving our gate. Same-day turnaround on routine assays.
From first inquiry to loaded truck, every order moves through the same disciplined sequence — built for customers who need to know exactly what they are getting and when.
We sit down with your technical team and lock the spec sheet — purity, contaminants, packaging, delivery cadence — before a single pound is scheduled.
Production is slotted against our rolling 14-day cracker plan. You receive a firm ship date, not an estimate, with a dedicated logistics coordinator.
Batch records are signed at every transfer point. In-line analyzers verify grade continuously; any deviation halts the run before it reaches storage.
Every shipment leaves with a certificate of analysis signed by the lab supervisor on duty. Records are retained for seven years and accessible on request.
A walk through the units, tank farms, and loading infrastructure that make up the Texas City complex.
Our commercial desk responds to all qualified inquiries within one business day. For urgent logistics or after-hours hazmat questions, call the plant directly.
Whether you need a single tank truck of caustic or a dedicated monthly allocation of polymer-grade propylene, the conversation starts here. Send us the spec, the volume, and the delivery point — we will send back a firm quote and a ship date.
