A Safe Space for Emotional Welfare
Katy Peacock is a registered Therapeutic Play Practitioner and qualified Social Worker, specialising in Fostering and Adoption. She has written and designed stories to help parents and professionals who are concerned for the emotional welfare of children and young people.
Sometimes parents, carers, or professionals feel that mentioning a problem to a child will only make things worse. With a soothing story, there is a hidden message within. The child or young person may not even know it's there, allowing them to subconsciously find ways of solving their own problems through the safety of metaphor and play.

The Magic of the Sand Tray
Sometimes, words aren't enough. Traditional therapy asks children to articulate complex feelings they might not yet have the vocabulary for.
Sand tray therapy bypasses the logical brain. By placing miniatures and symbols into the sand, children create a visual representation of their inner world. It allows them to externalise their worries, process trauma, and find solutions in a completely safe, contained environment. It's play with a profound purpose.
