Silk Services Ltd was founded in 1986 by James Silk, a third-generation Hampshire carpenter who believed the county's homes deserved better than volume-builder standards. Nearly four decades on, we operate from Wood Farm in Bramdean — a short drive from Alresford's historic centre — and employ a core team of fourteen directly, from stonemasons to electricians.
We're small by choice. Taking on no more than six major projects a year means our site managers stay close to the work, our tradespeople stay proud of it, and our clients never have to chase us for an answer. The result is a quietly growing list of award-winning and English Heritage-recognised commissions across Hampshire, West Sussex, and the South Downs.
