Food Pantry & Emergency Groceries
Weekly groceries, fresh produce, baby formula, and hygiene supplies. Walk in during open hours — no appointment, no proof of income required for your first visit.
Secaucus Social Services is a community-rooted nonprofit helping families across Secaucus and Hudson County access food, housing, counseling, and care — no red tape, no judgment, no waitlist for emergencies.
We started in 2014 out of a church basement on Paterson Plank Road with one goal: make sure no one in our town goes to bed hungry, unhoused, or unheard. Eleven years later, we're a federally recognized 501(c)(3) with a full-time staff of nine, a board of Hudson County residents, and a network of volunteers who show up — every week, without fail.
We are not a branch of state government. We are an independent nonprofit, funded by local grants, the Secaucus business community, and neighbors like you. That means we move fast: same-day food assistance, 48-hour housing intake, and counseling appointments within the week.

Our staff lives here. Our kids go to the same schools. We know the landlords, the clinics, and the caseworkers — and we pick up the phone.
Every service lists its cost up front. Most are free. The rest use a sliding scale based on household income — never a surprise bill.
We don't share identifying details, but with permission, here are some moments from the past year — graduations, food drives, counseling breakthroughs, and the small wins that add up to a stronger Secaucus.
"When I lost my job in 2023, they didn't make me fill out ten forms. They handed me groceries, sat me down with a counselor, and helped me file for SNAP the same afternoon. That's how it should work."
— Maria R., Secaucus resident since 2009
