A bespoke tailoring house and garment-care atelier on Garth Road, serving Scarsdale and the wider Westchester County. Sixty-two years of cut, fit, and quiet finish — one garment at a time.
01 — The Atelier
A house of cloth,
kept by hand.
Scarsdale Atelier opened above the chemist on Garth Road in 1962, with a single cutting table, two Singer 31Ks, and a young tailor named Salvatore Rea fresh off the boat from Naples.
Three generations on, the table is the same — though the machines have been joined by a half-dozen others, and the cloth cupboard now holds English worsteds, Italian linens, and a small library of vintage deadstock. We cut, fit, and finish every garment in-house. Nothing is sent away.
We make for Scarsdale, for the wider villages of Westchester, and for a quiet roster of clients who have been coming to us for decades. No franchise. No factory. No rush.

04 — Our Process
Four fittings,
one garment.
Step 01
Consultation
An hour at the atelier. We talk occasion, cloth, cut, and calendar. You leave with swatches and a written quote.
Step 02
Cut & baste
Your pattern is drafted by hand. A baste fitting follows in two weeks — the skeleton of the garment, in plain cloth.
Step 03
Forward fitting
The garment, nearly finished. Sleeves set, collar attached. We mark, you move, we adjust. The crucial fitting.
Step 04
Delivery
Final fitting, pressed and bagged. Your pattern is filed in our cabinet — ready for the next garment, years from now.

05 — Book a Fitting
Come by the atelier.
Fittings are by appointment, Tuesday through Saturday. Use the form, or stop by the Garth Road studio during workshop hours. We answer every enquiry within one business day.
