A boutique floating lodge with a private hot tub, glass-walled terrace and slow river views — berthed on the Hamble, ten minutes from Southampton city centre.
Hamble River Beds — known to its guests as River Stays — is a fully insulated, eco-built cabin berthed at Cabin Boatyard, a family-run yard on the scenic River Hamble.
Made from sustainable and recycled materials and silenced with full soundproofing, the lodge is wrapped in a private terrace where the river does most of the entertaining. Step out for morning coffee, lower yourself into the hot tub after dark, watch the mast lights of moored yachts stutter across the water.
Inside: one bedroom, one bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area for two, a flat-screen with cable, and a private entrance — recently renovated, with towels, linen and the kind of quiet you can't manufacture on land.
The lodge was recently renovated and finished with the small things that turn a stay into a memory — from the cable TV and soundproofing to a terrace built for two and a hot tub that faces the dusk.
Filled, heated, reserved for you alone — set on the terrace with unobstructed views across the river.
Self-catering from a proper kitchen — gas hob, oven, fridge, cookware, dining area for two inside and out.
A quiet cabin with quality bed linen and towels, dressed for two, soundproofed against the world.
Outdoor dining area with the Hamble laid out in front of you — sunrise coffee, sunset supper, midnight hot tub.
Strong, free WiFi throughout the lodge, flat-screen with cable channels for slower mornings in bed.
Private entrance, full soundproofing, garden access, on-site private parking. Quiet, by design.
The lodge at dusk
The river was so still in the morning that we watched a heron land on the deck railing. We didn't leave the hot tub until the stars were out.— A recent guest, Cabin Boatyard
