A six-resident group home in Texas City, Texas

A small house, a quiet life, tended with care.

Pam's Private Care Home is a licensed residential group home for older adults who need a hand with daily living — without the cold hum of an institution. Six residents. One roof. Three home-cooked meals a day, and someone who knows your name at every hour.

A house, not a facility — built around six people.

Pam opened the doors of her own home on the west side of Texas City in 2009, after a decade of running memory-care floors for a larger outfit and tiring of the fluorescent, overscheduled rhythm that came with them. She wanted a house where the coffee pot was always on, where the porch actually got sat on, and where the people who needed help bathing, dressing, or remembering their pills could still feel like they lived somewhere — not stayed somewhere.

Today, Pam's Private Care Home is licensed by the State of Texas as a Type B assisted-living residence for up to six adults. We keep the number small on purpose. With six residents and a care team that knows each one by name, by habit, and by story, we can do what the larger buildings cannot: notice the small things. A missed meal. A new ache. A favourite song come on the radio. Care at this scale is not a service we sell — it is the day we live, together, in the house.
