Novelli's opened in the winter of 2014, in a brick building that used to be a hardware store. We kept the tin ceiling, the creaky floorboards, and the long oak bar that came with the lease. We replaced almost everything else.
The idea was simple: a place in Dickinson where the lights stay low, the drinks are poured with attention, and nobody is in a hurry to close out the tab. Whether you came in for one Negroni or to watch the game from corner booth four, the welcome is the same.
The calendar at Novelli's is steady. We don't chase trends or book DJs. What we do is run a handful of small weekly traditions — vinyl on Tuesdays, a whiskey flight on Wednesdays, live acoustic on the weekends — and let the room fill in around them. Show up once and you'll know the rhythm by the second visit.
We're on the east side of Dickinson, a few blocks off the main drag. Walk-ins are always welcome — the bar fills first, the booths fill second, and the corner table by the window goes to whoever asks for it earliest. For groups of six or more, drop us a line and we'll hold space.
