An old Manor House, a quiet spa, and fifty-four acres of parkland.

Norton Park has been a country retreat on the edge of Winchester since 1894. Today it hosts travellers, spa-goers and country weddings beneath its original oaks — fifteen minutes from the Cathedral, a world away in feel.

We came for one night and stayed four. The kind of place where the morning post arrives by hand and the gardener knows your name by Tuesday.

Norton Park was built in 1894 as a private country residence on the rolling downland above the River Test. The original flint and brick façade remains, as do the walled gardens, the Victorian orangery (now the spa's relaxation room), and the avenue of limes that lines the drive.

Over fifty-four bedrooms, a working spa, and two restaurants, we've kept what matters — quiet rooms, generous breakfasts, a bar that stays open late, and staff who remember how you take your tea.
