NATHANIEL MASSEY

— 02 The Practice

A planning practice built for the long arc — not the next quarter.

Nathaniel David Massey Jr has spent more than a decade helping households across Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and the wider D.C. metro think clearly about money. As a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC, he brings the resources of a national firm to relationships that are deliberately local, personal, and unhurried.

Clients come to the practice at inflection points — a liquidity event, a promotion, a parent's diagnosis, a child approaching college — and stay for the consistency of advice across decades. The work is rarely about a single product. It is about coordination: aligning investments, insurance, taxes, and estate documents around one coherent plan.

"Wealth, properly planned, buys time and optionality. The numbers are the easy part."

The office sits in downtown Bethesda, two blocks from the Metro, with on-site parking for clients driving in from Northwest D.C., Potomac, or Kensington. Initial conversations are always complimentary and without obligation.

— 04 How We Work

Four conversations, in order. No surprises, no pressure, no product-first pitches.

01

Discovery — 60 minutes, complimentary

A confidential conversation about what you are trying to build, what worries you, and the people who depend on the decisions you make. No paperwork, no pitch deck — just listening.

02

Data & Diagnostics — 2 weeks

You share statements, tax returns, employer benefits, and estate documents through a secure portal. We model the present state: net worth, cash flow, concentration risk, coverage gaps.

03

The Plan — 90 minutes, presented in person

A written plan with three to five prioritized recommendations, each tied to a dollar figure and a timeline. You leave with a copy. Implementation is always your choice.

04

Ongoing Stewardship — semi-annual cadence

For clients who engage ongoing management: two formal reviews per year, ad-hoc calls as life happens, and an annual plan refresh that recalibrates to your actual situation, not last year's assumptions.
