01Our story
From Morelos to Scottsdale, one family at the counter.
Three generations, one butcher's case, and a kitchen that starts smelling of cumin before the sun is up.
The mercado
A corner of Cuernavaca, planted in the Sonoran Desert.
We opened in 2009 with a single glass case, a tortilla press, and our grandmother's recipe for chile colorado. Today the case is longer, the bread shelves are fuller, and the kitchen still starts at five in the morning — but the family behind the counter is the same.
