Annual Wellness Visit
A full 45-minute preventive exam — history, physical, screenings, and a written plan for the year ahead. Covered by most insurance with no copay.
The practice of Manuel R. Bornia, M.D. — adult primary care built on long relationships, unhurried visits, and a clinician who still answers his own phone. Now welcoming new patients in Atlantis.
For more than two decades, Dr. Bornia has cared for the adults of Atlantis the old-fashioned way — one patient at a time, in a room with a door that closes.
Palm Springs Internal Medicine is an independent, physician-owned practice. That means the person making your medical decisions is the same one signing the chart, returning your call, and sitting across from you at every visit. No midlevels. No concierge fees. No corporate parent.
We limit our daily schedule so each appointment has the time it needs. A new-patient visit runs 60 to 90 minutes. Annual physicals are 45. Same-day sick visits are reserved every morning for established patients who wake up unwell.
If you are between 18 and 110, you are in the right place. We manage the whole adult — the blood pressure, the back, the worry, and the lab result that came back a little off.
A full 45-minute preventive exam — history, physical, screenings, and a written plan for the year ahead. Covered by most insurance with no copay.
90 minutes with Dr. Bornia to establish care: full history, exam, review of outside records, and coordination of any pending referrals or labs.
Ongoing care for hypertension, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, thyroid disease, and asthma. Quarterly follow-ups, lab review, and medication titration included.
Reserved morning slots for established patients with new concerns — cough, fever, rash, urinary symptoms, or injury. Most visits completed within 30 minutes.
History, physical, ECG, and any required labs completed and sent to your surgeon within 72 hours. Includes a written clearance letter and risk assessment.
12-lead electrocardiogram interpreted on-site, plus routine blood work drawn in the office. No separate trip to the lab. Results reviewed with you the same week.
Destination-specific vaccine plan, prescriptions for malaria or altitude, and a printed travel health kit. Schedule at least four weeks before departure when possible.
The average primary-care visit in this country lasts 18 minutes. Ours rarely runs under 30. We believe you cannot care for a person you do not have time to listen to — so we built a practice that protects the time.
Dr. Bornia sees a maximum of 12 patients per day. Your chart is reviewed the night before. Your questions are answered in the room, not by a portal message three days later.
Tell us a little about yourself and what brings you in. We will call you back within two business days to schedule, verify insurance, and answer any questions before your first appointment.
