Before you visit

No surprises. No pressure. Four small things to know.

Test at the right time

Take a test three weeks (21 days) from the last time you had unprotected sex. Any earlier and the result may not be reliable.

Book in your own time

Call us, and we'll find you an appointment at the Adelaide Health Centre. You can also cancel or rebook by selecting Option 3 on our phone line.

Tests are reliable

Whether you do it yourself at home or with us in clinic — when carried out correctly, every pregnancy test is dependable, including the ones from supermarkets.

Good to know

A few practical notes.

  • Managing your appointment. We recently added a new telephone menu option. To cancel or rebook an existing appointment, select Option 3 to speak directly to a receptionist.
  • Clinical queries are different. Option 3 is not for clinical questions, testing or results. For those, please re-dial and choose Option 1 to speak with a nurse.
  • When we're short-staffed. We endeavour to keep the rebooking line open during normal call hours, but if we're understaffed it may close — you can still make any request via a nurse on Option 1.
  • Confidentiality. Everything you tell us stays with us. There is no pressure, no agenda, and no cost — just people trained to listen.
