About the Practice
A clinic built around the forty-minute visit.
Dr. Hemalatha Iyer trained in internal medicine at Baylor and spent six years in hospital practice before opening her own clinic in Texas City in 2014. She built it on a simple, almost old-fashioned idea: a doctor should have time to listen before reaching for the prescription pad.
Today the practice sees adult patients across Galveston County for everything from annual physicals and pre-operative clearance to long-term management of hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and thyroid disease. Most visits run thirty-five to forty minutes — long enough to ask the second question, the one most patients never get to.
