Specialist vascular surgery for varicose veins, spider veins and chronic venous disease — delivered by consultant vascular surgeons at Nuffield Health Hampshire Hospital, Eastleigh.
Every patient is treated by an experienced consultant vascular surgeon — never delegated.
Hampshire Vein Clinic is a specialist surgical centre dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of varicose veins and the wider spectrum of venous disease. From our base within Nuffield Health Hampshire Hospital in Chandler's Ford, we care for patients across Eastleigh, Winchester, Southampton and the wider Hampshire region.
Our work is led by consultant vascular surgeons who have spent decades operating on the body's most delicate vessels. We use modern, minimally invasive techniques — endovenous laser ablation, ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy and ambulatory phlebectomy — meaning most patients walk out the same day, with little to no scarring.
We treat the cause, not just the surface. Every consultation begins with a full colour duplex ultrasound so we can map the veins beneath your skin and design a treatment plan around your anatomy — not a one-size-fits-all protocol.
From thread veins to complex varicose recurrence, we offer the full spectrum of modern vascular treatment — all performed under local anaesthetic in a fully equipped surgical setting.
The gold-standard treatment for varicose veins. A tiny laser fibre is positioned inside the affected vein under ultrasound guidance, then heats and seals it shut. Blood is naturally rerouted through healthy veins.
Walk-in, walk-out · ~45 minsA medical foam is injected into larger veins under ultrasound vision, causing the vein wall to collapse and be reabsorbed by the body. Ideal for branch veins and recurrent varicose disease.
No general anaestheticSurface varicose veins are removed through pinhead incisions using a fine hook. Stitches are rarely needed and the cosmetic result is excellent — often used alongside EVLA for complete correction.
Minimal scarringFine micro-injections of sclerosant close down the small red and purple thread veins that appear on the legs. A series of short appointments restores a clearer, more even appearance to the skin.
Lunchtime procedureA clear, calm pathway through diagnosis, treatment and recovery — designed around your schedule and your anatomy.

Modern treatments such as EVLA and foam sclerotherapy are performed under local anaesthetic, so discomfort is minimal. Most patients describe a sensation of pressure or mild warmth rather than pain, and return to normal activities within a day or two.
No. All of our treatments are walk-in, walk-out. You'll be observed briefly after the procedure and then free to travel home — ideally with someone driving you.
Most adults with varicose veins or chronic venous insufficiency are candidates for treatment, but suitability is always confirmed by the duplex ultrasound and your consultant's assessment at the first visit.
