For sixteen years we've run a structured daytime program for adults who need supervised engagement — not a passive room, not a nursing home.
Galveston County Adult Daycare was founded by a small group of nurses and family caregivers who were tired of the same choice: keep a parent at home alone all day, or move them into full-time residential care. We built a third option — a weekday center where adults come for cognitive stimulation, social connection, two hot meals, and gentle physical activity, then return home each evening to the people who love them.
Our participants range from active seniors looking for daily structure to adults living with early-stage dementia, post-stroke mobility changes, or developmental disabilities. Every enrollment begins with a nurse assessment and a written care plan, reviewed with the family every ninety days.
