Annual Physical & Wellness
Comprehensive preventive exam with cardiovascular risk scoring, age-appropriate cancer screening, and immunization review. Includes ECG and baseline labs.
The solo practice of Dr. Lindsay K. Sonstein, MD — board-certified internal medicine on Galveston Island. Forty-minute visits, on-site labs, and a clinician who already knows your name by the second appointment.
Dr. Sonstein opened the practice on Mechanic Street in 2009 after a decade on staff at the University of Texas Medical Branch. The premise was simple: most primary care fails not because clinicians lack knowledge, but because they lack time. So she built a schedule that protects it.
Every new patient is allotted a full forty minutes. Returning visits run twenty-five. There is no conveyor belt, no physician assistant relay, no seven-minute slot dictated by a billing department three states away. You see the doctor you booked. She reads your chart before she walks in.
The practice is small by design: one physician, two medical assistants, and a front-desk coordinator who has been with the clinic since its first month. Lab draws are performed in-house. Most results return within twenty-four hours.

Same-day acute visits are reserved each morning for established patients — call the front desk by 8:30 AM to claim a slot. New patient appointments are typically scheduled within seven to ten business days. We ask for twenty-four hours' notice on cancellations; missed visits without notice carry a $50 hold fee.
After-hours concerns are routed through the UTMB Health nurse triage line. For emergencies, dial 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency department.
A converted Victorian on the edge of the Strand district — three exam rooms, a draw station, and a waiting room that seats six, intentionally.
Send the form below and our coordinator will reply within one business day to confirm a time. For urgent same-day requests, please call the clinic directly — we hold six acute slots each morning.
