Dr. Anna Rotkiewicz opened the Postoffice Street clinic in 2014, after a decade on staff at Houston-area teaching hospitals. The intent was simple: build a primary care practice where a forty-minute consultation is the default, not a luxury, and where the person across the desk is a patient — not a chart number.
The clinic sits in the historic Strand district, two blocks from the harbor. Inside you'll find three exam rooms, a small in-house lab, and a waiting area that seats six on purpose. We do not overbook. We do not double-book. We see a maximum of fourteen patients a day, and we finish the chart notes before you leave the room.
Most of our patients live or work on Galveston Island — year-round residents, UTMB faculty, shrimpers, and a steady stream of seasonal visitors who'd rather not sit in a Houston waiting room. We accept cash, major PPO plans, and Medicare. We do not accept Medicaid or ACA marketplace plans at this time, and we will tell you that on the phone, before you book.
Cash prices below are honored for any patient without insurance. Insured visits are billed through your plan; we'll verify your benefits before the appointment so there are no surprises.
A complete first visit — medical history, medication review, physical exam, and a written care plan you take home. Includes a follow-up phone call within seven days to review any lab results.
For returning patients managing hypertension, diabetes, thyroid disease, or other ongoing conditions. Medication adjustments, refills, and quarterly check-ins included in the visit fee.
A comprehensive yearly exam with age-appropriate cancer and cardiovascular screening, vaccinations review, and a personalized risk report. Covered in full by Medicare and most commercial plans.
Blood draw performed in our Postoffice Street lab, with same-day results for most panels. No separate trip to a diagnostic center. Emailed results and a plain-English summary within 24 hours.
Resting electrocardiogram with on-site interpretation and a printed copy for your records. Often combined with the annual physical for patients over forty or with cardiac risk factors.
For Galveston cruise passengers and international travelers. Includes destination-specific vaccine recommendations, malaria prophylaxis, and a travel medical kit. Most vaccines stocked on-site.
Skin lesion biopsies, sebaceous cyst removals, corticosteroid joint injections, and simple laceration repairs — performed under local anesthesia in the clinic, not a surgery center.
Walk-ins welcome for established patients. New patients are seen by appointment only — call ahead to confirm availability.

For new patients, please mention any current medications, your insurance carrier (or self-pay status), and a preferred day. We do not accept walk-in new patients on Saturdays.
