01 / About

A Gulf Coast practice built on looking closely.

For over four decades, Coastal Dermatology has served the communities of Texas City and Galveston with a simple philosophy: every patient deserves unhurried, expert attention to the body's largest organ. We blend old-school clinical rigor with contemporary dermatologic technology — dermoscopy, digital mole mapping, and in-house pathology — under one roof.

Coastal Dermatology clinic interior in Texas City Texas City Clinic · Suite C

Our clinic was founded on the belief that dermatology is a discipline of patience — of looking, asking, and looking again.

Coastal Dermatology traces its roots to the Galveston clinic established in the late 1970s by Dr. Ramon L. Sanchez, a dermatopathologist trained at the Mayo Clinic. Joined shortly after by Dr. David W. Raimer, the practice grew into a trusted referral center for complex skin conditions across Galveston County and the upper Gulf Coast.

Today, our Texas City office on 34th Street sees patients for everything from annual skin-cancer screenings to chronic eczema, pediatric rashes, autoimmune blistering disorders, and cosmetic consultations. We accept most major insurance plans and offer self-pay pricing for uninsured patients — because skin care should not be a luxury reserved for the few.
