/ 01 — Who we are

A neighborhood practice, not a call center.

Center For Family Support was founded in 2009 by a small group of Hillsborough clinicians who believed families deserved more than a 50-minute slot and a clipboard. Today we are nine licensed social workers, therapists, and care coordinators serving Somerset County from a quiet office on Amwell Road.

Our Approach

Whole-family, not symptom-only.

We treat the household as the unit of care. A teen's anxiety, a parent's burnout, a grandparent's dementia — these are rarely separate stories. Our clinicians coordinate across sessions so no one is repeating their history to a fourth stranger.

Horizon, Aetna, Cigna, Optum, Magellan. For uninsured families, a sliding-scale fee starts at $40 per session and is never the reason care is delayed.

Structured sessions for households navigating conflict, blended-family transitions, or adolescent strain. Licensed marriage and family therapists lead every intake.

Parenting Support

Eight-week coaching arcs for parents of children ages 3–17. Covers co-regulation, screen-time boundaries, and post-divorce co-parenting alignment.

Youth Mentorship

One-to-one mentorship for ages 8–18, paired with a licensed clinician supervisor. Ideal for kids who resist traditional therapy but need a steady adult.

NJ-licensed home studies for domestic, international, and kinship adoptions. Includes pre- and post-placement visits and court-ready documentation.

Every service, priced honestly.

We publish our rates because surprises belong in birthdays, not invoices. Most major insurance is accepted in-network; sliding-scale fees begin at $40 for qualifying families.

Individual Counseling

One-to-one therapy for adults and teens navigating anxiety, depression, grief, or major life transitions. LCSW-led, evidence-based.

Couples & Marriage Therapy

Gottman-informed sessions for partners working through communication breakdown, infidelity recovery, or pre-marital preparation.

$175/ 60 min session

Child Play Therapy

For ages 4–12. Trauma-informed play and art therapy led by clinicians trained in Theraplay and Child-Centered Play Therapy.

Group Therapy Circles

Six-week themed groups: new mothers, grieving spouses, parents of teens. Capped at eight participants for safety.

School IEP Advocacy

We attend IEP and 504 meetings alongside parents, translate the jargon, and help secure appropriate accommodations in Hillsborough Township schools.

Sliding-Scale Intake

For uninsured or underinsured families. A confidential financial conversation determines your fee — never a barrier to beginning care.
