Casey's sits on Figueroa between the record store and the old barbershop. We stock produce from the Friday market, bread from Arroyo Bakery, and the kind of small everyday things you forgot you needed until you walked in.

A shop the block grew up around.
Casey opened the door on a Tuesday morning in October 2014 with six crates of apples, a borrowed espresso machine, and a hand-painted sign. The sign is still there. So are the apples — though now they come from three farms up the 5, delivered every Thursday by a man named Tomás who refuses to drive under fifty-five.
We are not a bodega and we are not a boutique. We are the place you send your cousin to when she's making dinner and forgot the lemons. The place your kid learns to buy a candy bar by themselves. The place where Ray, two doors down, picks up his morning paper — even though he could read it on his phone.
"Run small. Stay useful. Know everybody's name."
That's the whole business plan. We've never seen a reason to change it.

We run orders out by bike within roughly a mile and a half of the shop. Friday and Saturday nights get busy — order before 6pm if you can.

We're on the east side of Figueroa, between Avenue 56 and Avenue 57. Look for the green awning and the crates of apples out front. There's usually a dog tied to the parking meter — that's Ray's dog, not ours.
