Country Rooms
Four individually styled en-suite rooms with hand-stitched Welsh blankets, reclaimed oak furniture, and views over the orchard, paddocks, or kitchen garden.
Wake to cockerel calls and the smell of fresh bread. Brindle Farm is a four-room bed & breakfast set in thirty acres of Hampshire countryside — close to the M27, the Itchen Valley, and the centre of town.
Every stay at Brindle Farm comes with the small touches that turn a night away into something worth remembering.
Four individually styled en-suite rooms with hand-stitched Welsh blankets, reclaimed oak furniture, and views over the orchard, paddocks, or kitchen garden.
Sausages and bacon from the butcher in Botley, eggs from our own Marans hens, slow-baked tomatoes, and warm sourdough — served at the long oak table from 8 o'clock.
Guests are welcome to wander the meadow trail, meet the Gloucester Old Spot pigs, and watch barn owls hunting at dusk over the River Hamble valley.
Private off-road parking right by the door, fast fibre Wi-Fi throughout the farmhouse, and a quiet guest lounge with log burner for cooler evenings.
Two of our rooms are dog-friendly. Bring one well-behaved dog at no extra charge — there's a hose for muddy paws and towel-lined baskets in every room.
Secure bike storage, packed lunches on request, and a shelf of marked maps for the Itchen Way, South Downs, and New Forest — all within a short drive.
Brindle Farm has been in the Hartwell family since 1984, when John and Margaret swapped a terrace in Shirley for thirty acres of clay and a sagging stone barn. What began as a smallholding of chickens and a couple of Hereford cows slowly grew into the mixed farm you see today.
In 2009, their daughter Ruth returned from a decade abroad, restored the old dairy, and opened the four guest rooms. The farm still keeps free-range hens, a small herd of Gloucester Old Spot pigs, and a kitchen garden that supplies the breakfast table through the summer.
With warm regards, Ruth Hartwell Your host at Brindle Farm
The kind of place you check into for one night and try to extend to three. Ruth's breakfast is worth the journey on its own — and the barn owls over the meadow at dusk are pure magic.
Send a note with your preferred dates and we'll reply within the day — or pick up the phone and Ruth will be happy to help.
