Always Reachable
A registered nurse answers the phone at 2 a.m. on a Sunday. No call centres, no hold music — a clinician who already knows your family.
Better Care Matters brings dignified, holistic hospice support to families across Texas City and the Gulf Coast — skilled nursing, chaplaincy, pain management and a team that treats your loved one like our own.
The left side is the worry families carry alone — confusion, sleepless nights, unanswered questions. The right is what changes when an interdisciplinary hospice team walks through your door. Slide the handle to see how presence transforms a difficult season.
Better Care Matters was founded on a simple conviction: that the final chapters of a person's life should be lived with the same dignity, comfort and intention as every chapter before. From our home base in Texas City, we serve families across the Gulf Coast who are navigating serious illness — not with cold clinical efficiency, but with the warmth of a neighbour who has done this work for a lifetime.
Hospice is not a place. It is a philosophy of care that treats the whole person — body, mind and spirit. Our interdisciplinary team brings together registered nurses, social workers, chaplains, hospice aides and trained volunteers under one coordinated plan. We come to you, in the home you know, surrounded by the people you love.
“We will be there — at any hour, for as long as it takes.”
Every program is delivered in the home by an interdisciplinary team and coordinated under a single plan of care. Indicative pricing below reflects typical out-of-pocket rates; Medicare Hospice Benefit and most private insurance cover the majority of services once eligibility is met.
Registered nurses specialising in end-of-life care manage medications, monitor changing conditions and coordinate directly with your physician — available by phone any hour of the day or night.
Our primary goal is comfort. We build a personalised plan that keeps pain, nausea, anxiety and breathlessness under control so your loved one can spend their days meaningfully — not fighting for relief.
Trained professionals assist with bathing, grooming, oral care, light linen changes and the gentle daily rituals that protect dignity. Most families receive visits two to three times weekly.
Licensed social workers help families navigate insurance, advance directives, community resources and the emotional weight of a serious diagnosis. We are your advocate when the system feels overwhelming.
Non-denominational chaplains offer prayer, presence, ritual and a listening ear — for patients and the family members carrying the load. Faith is honoured on your terms, not ours.
Trained hospice volunteers sit with patients so caregivers can rest — reading aloud, sharing music, holding a hand, or simply being present. A quiet gift that families tell us changes everything.
Not sure where to start? Most families begin with a single conversation. We will explain eligibility, verify insurance and outline a plan — at no cost and with no obligation.

Nurse, social worker, chaplain and aide coordinate under a single interdisciplinary plan — so you never have to repeat the story of your loved one to a stranger.
We will not promise what hospice cannot deliver. We will explain what is happening, what to expect, and what choices remain — in plain Texas English.
Bereavement support continues for thirteen months after a loss. We grieve with you, because the work of hospice does not end when a life does.
They did not just care for my mother. They cared for all of us — and they kept caring after she was gone.Family testimonial Texas City, TX · 2024
Hospice is rarely dramatic. It is the steady accumulation of small, deliberate acts — a held hand, a cooled brow, a question answered honestly at three in the morning.
