AXA Advisors is an independent financial planning firm in Bethesda, Maryland, guiding physicians, founders, and families across the D.C. metro through retirement, tax, estate, and investment decisions — one disciplined decade at a time.
Six disciplines, one coordinated plan. Each tile below represents a pillar of how we steward capital for Bethesda households and the businesses that fund them.
Monte Carlo stress-testing, Roth conversion ladders, and a withdrawal sequence engineered to outlive markets — and you.
Low-cost, tax-aware portfolios built around your goals — not a quarterly quota.
Trusts, gifting strategy, and beneficiary coordination with your attorney.
For D.C. metro founders: valuation prep, buy-sell architecture, and post-exit reinvestment.
Insurance as architecture, not afterthought.
Founded in 2009, AXA Advisors operates as an independent, fee-only fiduciary. We do not earn commissions on products, and we do not answer to a national brokerage. We answer to the 320 households across Montgomery County who have entrusted us with their plan.
Our founder, Margaret Holloway, CFP®, started AXA Advisors after fifteen years inside two national brokerages — convinced that households in the D.C. metro deserved a planner whose revenue did not depend on which annuity they recommended. That conviction still shapes the firm.
Today, our team of six serves physicians from Suburban Hospital, partners at Bethesda law firms, founders exiting software businesses, and families navigating the quiet complexity of inherited wealth. Every relationship begins with a written plan and a flat or asset-based fee — disclosed in plain English before any signature.
We meet clients in person at our Wisconsin Avenue office, virtually across state lines, and twice a year at our review dinners held at the Kenwood Club. Planning, in our view, is a long conversation — not a quarterly printout.
Every engagement begins with a written financial plan. From there, clients may engage us for ongoing wealth management, project-based advisory, or both. Indicative fees are below — final engagements are quoted in writing after a complimentary consultation.
A written plan covering retirement projections, investment allocation, tax strategy, estate review, insurance audit, and education funding. Delivered in 60 days, refreshed annually.
Discretionary portfolio management, quarterly rebalancing, tax-loss harvesting, and continuous planning access. Asset-based fee, declining at higher tiers.
For clients within five years of retirement: Social Security optimization, Roth conversion laddering, SEPP planning, and a tax-efficient withdrawal sequence.
Beneficiary audit, gifting strategy, trust funding review, and coordination with your estate attorney. Includes a written legacy summary for heirs.
For owners of D.C. metro businesses between $2M–$50M revenue: valuation prep, buy-sell architecture, key-person structuring, and post-exit reinvestment.
Year-round tax planning, quarterly estimated payments, K-1 review, and coordination with your CPA. Includes an annual tax projection delivered each November.
Independent review of term life, long-term care, disability, and umbrella coverage. We do not sell policies — we evaluate them, then refer you to carriers directly.
A 60-minute complimentary conversation — in our Bethesda office or by video. We listen to your goals, balance sheet, and the people who depend on you. No deliverable, no fee.
Within 30 days, you receive a written plan: retirement projection, investment allocation, tax opportunities, and an estate summary. Reviewed together in a second meeting.
We open accounts, transfer assets, retitle beneficiaries, and coordinate with your CPA and attorney. Every action item has an owner and a deadline.
Twice-yearly reviews, ongoing tax-loss harvesting, and an open line for life events — a job change, a parent's decline, a child's college decision. Planning never sleeps.
AXA Advisors rebuilt our retirement plan from scratch — and found us $42,000 a year in tax efficiency we didn't know existed. They speak plainly, return calls the same day, and treat our money like their own.
