dult medicine is its own discipline. Internists spend at least three of seven training years learning how to prevent, diagnose, and treat the diseases that affect adults — and how to coordinate care when several strike at once.

About the practice

Seventy-five years of teamwork, one patient at a time.

Palm Beach Medical Group was founded in 1950 by four physicians who recognized that the community needed doctors to join together — to bring high-quality healthcare to South Florida through shared expertise rather than solo practice.

Almost seventy-five years later, the founders' guiding principles are still present. Dr. Kappes and her colleagues combine board-certified internal medicine expertise with a local network of sub-specialists to offer patients appropriate, timely care.

Internists focus on adult medicine. At least three of their seven or more years of medical school and postgraduate training are dedicated to learning how to prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases that affect adults — from puzzling diagnostic problems to severe chronic illnesses and situations where several conditions strike at the same time.

Laboratory and pharmacy services are on the premises. A secure, password-protected patient portal lets you request referrals, prescriptions, and appointments, and review your own diagnostic lab and x-ray results.
