A house call, reimagined for the modern Gulf Coast family.

A*Med began with a simple frustration: hospital discharge plans that ended at the front door. We built a service for the days, weeks, and months that follow — when the IV pole is gone but the uncertainty isn't.

Origin

Founded by nurses, not administrators.

Our first team in 2014 was three RNs who'd spent a decade on hospital floors. They knew exactly which gaps appeared between discharge and recovery — and built A*Med to fill every one of them.

Every A*Med service is delivered in your home by licensed clinicians. Indicative prices below reflect typical private-pay rates for Texas City; Medicare, Medicaid, and most major insurers cover qualifying skilled services. We verify benefits before your first visit — never after.

01 · Flagship

Skilled Nursing Visits

Wound care, post-surgical recovery, IV antibiotic therapy, catheter management, ostomy care, medication reconciliation, and chronic disease monitoring — delivered by RNs and LVNs who coordinate directly with your physician. Most post-discharge plans require two to six visits per week for the first month, then taper as you stabilize. We document every visit in your shared chart, which your family can access through our secure portal.

Gait training, fall-risk reduction, post-hip and post-knee rehabilitation, and strength restoration after a hospital stay. Most plans run two to three sessions weekly for six to eight weeks.

Relearning daily living skills — dressing, bathing, cooking, driving assessments — after stroke, injury, or cognitive decline. Includes home-safety modifications and adaptive equipment guidance.

Swallowing evaluations, post-stroke aphasia recovery, and cognitive-communication therapy for Parkinson's and dementia. Often paired with skilled nursing for stroke recovery plans.
